Bruges - Northeast of Brussels lies the region called Flanders. Formerly an independent nation, the folks in this area speak Flemish. In addition to French. And German. And English. Seriously to work at a hotel you need to speak at least those four. The capital of Flanders is the quaint old town of Bruges. The tempo there was much slower then in Brussels, and the buildings had a unique style. This was always where I found the wall of beers, displaying all 780 Belgium beers!
Oostende - Just beyond Bruges lies the North Sea. As it had been quite some time since I last saw the ocean, we decided to drive until we hit water. The coastal city of Oostende was quite beautiful, as one would expect from a European beach town. The water was quite cold, but pleasant, and it quite interesting to be walking along a boardwalk, and then turn a corner and see a giant Gothic cathedral (which are all the range in Europe).
Luxembourg City - At the Capital of the small country of Luxembourg, we didn't have the most enjoyable time. The city was interesting, the ruins of the old fortifications were nice to explore, but by this part of the trip we were quite tired, and parking in the city was such a nightmare that it left a sour taste. Nonetheless, I snapped a couple of good pictures.
