A roadtrip in retrospect

Salzburg - Our final stop before returning to Vienna was both the setting for the Sound of Music, and the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Truly a musical city, we saw a pretty interesting string quartet (pictured) among other things. The city resembled a smaller Vienna, and once again there was requisite castle on a hill.

Finally, after nearly two weeks on the road, complete with traffic accidents, people getting stuck in elevators, random fireworks displays, good beer, giant castles, bad beer, tipsy parents, Roman foundations, kindly motorbike police, wind turbines, great beer, waffles, seashells, tourist information centers, softboiled eggs, and visions of my own gory deaths on the autobahn. It was a great trip, but I think I prefer trains.
